Got a new camera this week – a Nikon Coolpix 3200:
We needed something to replace our Canon S100 Digital Elph, which is a great little camera, but the battery life on it was getting pretty dismal.
The Nikon combined all the features I was looking for – takes AA batteries (need to get some good NiMH rechargeables), uses SD memory cards, and has a decent optical zoom (3x). Oh, and it takes good quality pictures, too. It’s only 3.2 megapixels, which is a jump over the 2.1 MP of the S100, but we don’t print very often, so we didn’t need a higher resolution (especially since I got a nice price for the Nikon – $199 at NewEgg).
Right now, we’re still just playing around with all the features, shooting modes, etc. Video and voice note recording are especially cool. I’ll probably post a mini-review once I’ve been using it for a while.
