I love TomTom Navigator on my Pocket PC – I use the wired GPS unit and an old Jornada 568 as a dedicated navigation unit in my car. The maps are thorough, accurate, and up-to-date (Dec. 2003), and the directions and routing are quite helpful.
I can’t wait to check this out on the Smartphone, though I’m not sure how well it will work on the smaller screen. The package (Europe only right now, but we might luck out and get a U.S. version one day) includes a tiny Bluetooth GPS receiver, and an SD card with pre-loaded maps and software. Pretty simple, huh?
Price is 299 Euros, which is kind of steep, but not too far out of line with other Bluetooth navigation suites. My biggest concern will be whether they have to sacrifice map detail or coverage to be able to fit everything onto an SD card.
