Signs of the Apocalypse: Palm Treo 700w Running Windows Mobile

The Palm Treo 700w (aka Treo 670) – Exclusive first look! – Engadget – www.engadget.com

This has been suspected for a while, but the lucky geeks over at Engadget actually got their hands on the Palm Treo 700w, running Windows Mobile 5 (Pocket PC version):

That’s right, a Palm device running Windows Mobile. You may now proceed to your end-of-the-world shelters in an orderly fashion.

Go check out the article for more photos and details. The specs are pretty vanilla (64MB RAM, Bluetooth, camera, etc.), and they’re not clear on the actual screen resolution (240×240 or 320×320), but it does include EVDO! w00t! :-) That makes up for the lack of WiFi.

I’ll have to wait until some more info comes out, but this might be enough of a draw to get me to jump. The EVDO all but seals the deal, and the form factor is more appealing than my current device, the i-mate JASJAR/HTC Universal.

Let the drooling begin!
