iPod In-Ear Headphones

iPod In-Ear Headphones

Decided to give these a shot, since all 3 pair of Sony MDR-EX71s I’ve owned have fallen apart. The girl at the Apple store has both, and says that the Sonys are more comfortable and sound better than these from Apple, but at least the Apple ones don’t fall apart. :-)

So far, after a couple of days, they’re OK. I miss the uneven cord length of the Sonys, and the behind the neck cord design. The In-Ear Headphones sound OK for podcasts and the little bit of music I’ve listened to. Not quite as comfortable as the Sonys – even the smallest buds feel much larger, and the rounded design makes them much more prone to slipping out of my ears.

I caved and ordered some Sony MDR-EX51s from Amazon for $25 yesterday. Brian has had these for a long time, and they haven’t fallen apart. Same basic design as the EX71s, black to match my new iPod, and longer cord to deal with the lack of an inline remote capability. We’ll see how they compare when they arrive.

You can check out more photos of the “opening” ceremony of my new iPod in this Flickr set. Enjoy!
