Intel employees in Haifa, Israel in wireless bomb shelters

All the attacks going on the in Middle East are worrying a lot of people. I’ve been worried after hearing that the city of Haifa, where Intel has about 2400 employees (the Pentium M and its descendants were designed there), has been hit several times by rocket attacks.

Apparently, there are bomb shelters at the Intel Haifa facility, and folks who aren’t staying at home are working from there. They’re wireless, so people are still able to get work done.

I admire the tenacity of my Israeli counterparts, but remember to stay safe, folks! It’s great that there hasn’t been any impact to Intel because of all the fighting, but none of that is worth anyone getting hurt, or worse, killed…
