  • Back in the US! At SFO, waiting for my flight home to PDX. Ask me how many times I’ve repacked my bags since I got here. Or don’t. :-) #
  • Nice to have ubiquitous connectivity again. Wifi was SCARCE in Shanghai. Not even the airport. ‘Course, none at SFO either. :-P, #
  • Never thought I’d be this grateful for EDGE. :-) #
  • Flight home was 4 hours shorter than flight to Shanghai. Know why? We had a 150mph tail wind most of the time. Jet stream, baby! #
  • @verso sadly, I’ll miss Lunch 2.0. I don’t get home till about 4pm. #
  • @jmoriarty it could have just been the places I went. But yeah, scarce wifi could hurt MID adoption. Then again, most will have cellular. #
  • I’m dying for a cheeseburger. Waiting for the breakfast menu to be over. Stupid jet lag. :-) #
  • The TSA tries out all its wacky new ideas at SFO. This time? Random screenings AT THE BOARDING GATE. WTF? Hope they leave me alone. :-( #
  • @mattg Apparently. Just heard them announce it while another flight is boarding. Don’t know the details. They’ve probed me enough already! #
  • @samgrover In China, they sent my gear bag through xray 4 times, taking stuff out each time. And I got a patdown. #
  • To be fair, I’ve had both (gear bag consternation and patdown) happen in the U.S., too. #
  • Overall, I feel like airport security in the US is WAY more uptight than Shanghai. By, like, an order of magnitude. #
  • @amyrsward remember when SFO was making you remove ALL electronics for xray, and TSA was like, "Nuh-uh!"? :-) I think its like that. #
  • If they disassemble my gear bag AGAIN at the gate (which would make 4 times so far), I might lose it at TSA. Bail me out of jail? #
  • Once in Shanghai, once in US Customs, then again at domestic security, not 5 minutes later. *sigh* #
  • Sorry I’m so chatty. Can you tell I missed tweeting on my phone, and being in the same time zone as most of my friends? 😉 #
  • @lyzadanger its not me – I sign all of my snarky comments. :-) #
  • Apparently, our roof is leaking (according to @rachelbancroft). In the same place we paid to have repaired three months ago. FAIL. #
  • In my state, if I were to call the roofers, I’d rip their intestines out through their throat over the phone. So @rachelbancroft’s doing it. #
  • About to board. Next stop: PDX. SO ready to be home. My body thinks its 3AM, been up almost 24 hours. #
  • just landed at PDX. Yay for home! :-) #
