  • Yay for heavy breathers on big conference call meetings. You know who you are. πŸ˜‰ #
  • @caseorganic LOL of course! That’s a fundamentally accepted truth, isn’t it? πŸ˜‰ #
  • @kenfisher You’re going to love the Kindle. For a light, I recommend the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2. $15 at Aamazon. http://tinyurl.com/6bkycf #
  • Hearing my boss’ boss say “we use social media to build community, not just for marketing”, which I’ve been harping on, warms my heart. :-) #
  • @kenfisher Don’t miss feedbooks.com and manybooks.net for Kindle books. Memoware and Creative Commons (and Gutenberg) are also great sources #
  • Amazed at how fast a Twitter search for LHC OR Hadron is moving. Dozens per minute, all over the leaderboard. http://tinyurl.com/68rwrt #
  • Defining what we use blogs, wikis, forums, articles, and a whole bunch of other taxonomical paradigms with the ISN team. #
  • @jmoriarty I’ll show you my holistic strawman. πŸ˜‰ #
  • @Tersteeg A “knowledge base” is a usage/application that can run on top of a wiki. Different levels of the stack. Is an FAQ a wiki? #
  • @jmoriarty I don’t think the formatting in particular matters, but yeah. A wiki could be used as a KB. So could a blog. So could Twitter. #
  • Oh, what a bummer. It’s confirmed that OSCON 2009 won’t be held in Portland, but in San Jose. That sucks! :-( http://tinyurl.com/5gq3uh #
  • @segphault Besides the selfish reasons (I live in Portland), I’m bummed that OSCON is leaving because it’s a blow to PDX’s open source scene #
  • The spirit of OSCON and open source and the spirit of the Portland geek community are very much aligned. Why move it to Silicon Valley? #
  • Portland is like the anti-Silicon Valley, culturally. SV is all about polo shirts and VC and startups and business. PDX is weird geeks. #
  • @Jmartens That would be really cool. I’d love to see BlogHer come to Portland. Heaven knows we have enough smart women here for it. :-) #
  • @susanreynolds I can’t speak for Salem, but there’s a marked difference, culturally, between even the suburbs and PDX itself, so prolly yes. #
  • @influxx Ah, the rain myth. We use that to keep the Californians away. (It really doesn’t rain as much here as people think. :-) #
  • @billpearson Gtalk is the only IM service I use. It rocks. I use the web version, integrated into the Gmail page. Never need a client app. #
  • @trishussey The biggest reason I love GTalk? It’s just there, in my browser, wherever I go. My browser is my OS. #
  • Just gave a good-natured browbeating to a coworker who wandered past, and admitted to still using IE6. Use Firefox or Chrome, man! :-) #
  • @DinkerP2 I tried Flock. It’s pretty cool, but I didn’t like all it’s extra “social” candy. And isn’t it still based on Firefox 2? #
  • The Ubuntu Eee project needs a new name and logo (trademark). My suggestion? Why, “Ubuntu Eee-mix”, of course. :-) http://tinyurl.com/5nefeq #
  • @ashokraj So you’re saying you’ve been locked into proprietary non-compatible software by a single vendor? I’m sorry to hear that. πŸ˜‰ #
  • They’re taking my window view away at my desk – taller cube walls. We’re regressing back to the old tall cubeprisons one step at a time. :-( #
  • @SarahCofer I liked your last tweet so much I Favorited it. That was awesome! :-) http://tinyurl.com/57mkcv #
  • @MnMmom Care to name said agency? Share the love! :-) #
  • @scottjedwards Drop your T42 down the stairs. That will speed up your PC refresh process! πŸ˜‰ (Note: Don’t actually drop it down the stairs) #
  • I’ll be doing an OEN PubTalk on Social Media tonight a 5PM (Bridgeport Brew Pub) with @geekygirldawn, @marshallk and @turoczy. Come join us! #
  • More info on tonight’s Oregon Entrepreneurs Network PubTalk on corporate social media (via @geekygirldawn): http://tinyurl.com/5ufq9c #
  • @blogan I love that you’ve added “ZOMG!” to your lexicon. :-) #
  • @sumwan http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ZOMG :-) #
  • At Bridgeport Brewpub, early, for the OEN pub talk on social media. This is a VERY cool place. I don’t come to the Pearl often enough. :-) #
  • @CarriBugbee Cool! Just look for the guy with the tiny white computer and bright orange shoes. :-) #
  • @turoczy Are you here already? I’m at a table in the main restaurant area. Do I need to be somewhere else? #
  • @CarriBugbee Wait’ll you see my orange (and brown) Timbuk2 bag. :-) And I DO have an orange iPod (shuffle). Just not on my person. #
  • @turoczy Cool. I’m just always anxious that I’m not somewhere I’m supposed to be, missing something I should be doing. See you soon! #
  • Hey, cool. The latest build of Google Chrome appears to add a rudimentary bookmark manager. Nice. And the update was silent. #
  • Google Chrome tip: Ctrl+B will show/hide the Bookmarks bar (this is not new). Useful to reclaim space on small screens (like netbooks). #
  • @funkatron @blogan I’m not 100% sure it was a silent update. But the Chrome docs say that it can/will update itself silently… #
  • FWIW, I trust Chrome, security-wise, with whatever flaws it has, WAY more than I trust ANY flavor of IE. #
  • What’s a screen capture/editor program for Windows, comparable to Skitch (for a netbook)? Jing project? Something else? #
  • The Bridgeport Brewpub website SUCKS on a netbook. All Flash, too tall for all the content to fit oncreen, and NO SCROLL BARS. Fail. :-( #
  • @DivaDanese Yeah, the Oregon Convention Center is know for it’s outrageously high prices. But now look what they lost! #
  • Crap. Jing Project requires .NET Framework 3.0 (I don’t have room for it on this SSD), Snagit is 50 bucks, and OneNote is too big. :-( #
  • I’m EASILY the least appropriately dressed person at this OEN shindig. The MC Frontalot t-shirt doesn’t quite mesh with the ol’ dress code. #
  • @sumwan Presenting on a panel. I figured I’d wear the LAST thing they’d expect an Intel guy to wear. Which is my strategy for every day. :-) #
  • @chrisorourke Dress code wasn’t explicit, but let me put it this way: I’m the only one here in a t-shirt. :-) #
  • Here I am: http://tinyurl.com/5nct8k http://twitpic.com/b12k #
  • @yasumoto Just for you: :-) http://twitpic.com/b15e #
  • 5 minute pitches at OEN PubTalk: http://metroseeq.com map/business mashup that shows deals at restaurants, etc. for members. pretty slick. #
  • OEN 5 minute pitch #2: Kyle from Motionless Keyboard Company. Wristbands for gadgets. Quick Google shows lots of lawsuit news… #
  • Oh, there they are: http://www.motionless.com/ The MobileKey handheld keyboard/text entry device looks interesting. #
  • Last OEN PubTalk 5 minute pitch: Tim from Multi Axis Games (http://www.multiaxisgames.com/). #
  • @marshallk, @geekygirldawn, and @turoczy are Rock Stars. I’m honored to be associated with them. :-) #
  • OEN PubTalk was awesome. I need to do more speaking I love it. Met lots of cool entrepreneurs, too! :-) #
  • The parking ticket I got after the OEN thing? Didn’t love that. :-( #
  • @Kram et al: I think the OEN thing was recorded, but I don’t know if they plan to post it anywhere. #
