Oh, sweet! 🙂 Can’t wait for this one. I’ve played around with Earthscape, but it’s just not quite the same.
the iPhone version replciates much of the desktop application’s core experience, downloading imagery from Google’s servers as the perspective shifts and dotting the map with landmarks, photos, and other information
Update: It’s out, and it’s amazing. The autotilt function is very cool. I’ll never use Earthscape again.
With Google Earth for iPhone, you can:
Tilt your iPhone to adjust your view to see mountainous terrain
- View the Panoramio layer and browse the millions of geo-located photos from around the world
- View geo-located Wikipedia articles
- Use the ‘Location’ feature to fly to your current location
- Search for cities, places and business around the globe with Google Local Search
