Josh’s Lifelog for 2009-01-06

  • Back in the office for the first time in almost a month (thanks to the Snowpocalypse and vacation). I THINK I remember how to do my job. 😉 #
  • Hey, it’s 2009! I’m going to start a new archive PST file in Outlook. That should speed things up for a while. :-) #
  • Spur of the moment New Year’s Resolution: I’m not going to use Internet Explorer unless I absolutely have to (already sorta do this). #
  • I’m going to be speaking at the SAO Corvallis Tech Pub event on Thursday 1/8. If you’re in the area, come join us! http://tinyurl.com/76de7y #
  • I hope we see some cool new big name iPhone apps (from Google or Apple or the like) from MacWorld this week. #
  • OMG Outlook slowness is KILLING ME. Even with a brand new empty PST file. I had hoped to get through my email backlog. Not at this rate. :-( #
  • @sleepingforest I would use TBird if I could, but Intel mail/etc. is so deeply wedded to Exchange that Outlook is the only real option. :-( in reply to sleepingforest #
  • RT @steverubel Picasa for Mac is out http://ping.fm/6BuvF (I’m downloading now! :-) #
  • Nice that Picasa for Mac can look inside and manage pics in iPhoto’s library. Have to copy the event out to make edits, though. #
  • PIcasa for Mac is fast. Very nice (my iPhoto library has 8000+ pics in it, and is slow like moleasses). “Find photos with faces” = cool. #
  • @dickieadams Picasa for Mac has been out for about an hour. :-) in reply to dickieadams #
  • @mungara I love my Airport Extreme. And yes, you can share an attached disk with Macs and PCs. in reply to mungara #
  • @Ross No Picasa-for-Mac to Flickr integration yet, but then, the Windows version doesn’t, either. I wish they would. in reply to Ross #
  • Ruh-roh. The sole is coming off of my Nike Air Flight Fireflies, the orange shoes I’m wearing until weather improves enough for Crocs. :-) #
  • @BrianEnigma LOL don’t worry. The Crocs will be back soon! Especially if this sole falls all the way off my Nikes. :-) in reply to BrianEnigma #
  • @georgegsmithjr Of course my Crocs are orange! That’s the only kind! :-) in reply to georgegsmithjr #
  • @jmartens What EeePC accessories are you looking for? Mice? Drives? Bags? I don’t know of a single site, but I have suggestions. Lemme know. in reply to Jmartens #
  • @georgegsmithjr I’ve always tried to be different/quirky/make a statement with my shoes. It offsets the black t-shirts and cargo pants. 😉 in reply to georgegsmithjr #
  • Cool! iPhone shows not only New/Watched dots, but Partly Watched dots, too, and how long is left for podcasts: http://twitpic.com/1021h #
  • @rachelbancroft is about to test out her brand new Dyson DC24 vacuum! The excitement is palpable! :-) in reply to rachelbancroft #
  • @betsywhim No, I was adamant that the vacuum was NOT a Christmas gift. Just a household purchase that happened to come at Christmastime. :-) in reply to betsywhim #
  • @betsywhim I’m pretty dumb, but even *I* know better than to give housecleaning implements as gifts to my wife. :-) in reply to betsywhim #
  • (via jkontherun) HP releases the Mini 2140 netbook. Fixed the slow 1.8″ HD of the 1000, kept the 1354×768 screen res of the 2133, went Atom. #
  • Plus the gorgeous aluminum design. On paper, I think the HP Mini 2140 is my new “most wanted” netbook. Starts at $499. Rawr. #
