  • http://speedtest.net/, my favorite online speed checker has a very nice free iPhone app. Go get it! (make sure to get the speedtest.net one) #
  • One of those motorized pallet mover thingies keeps going back and forth in front of my and @billpearson’s cubicles. Hard on phone meetings. #
  • @jonpederson Thankfully no beeper, but the electric motor on that thing is loud enough that no one could NOT hear it coming. :-) in reply to jonpederson #
  • @kellyrfeller Happy to share. I love this stuff. People asking me questions about stuff I know pushes the happy buttons in my brain. :-) in reply to kellyrfeller #
  • @ashokraj Did TweetDeck get moved offscreen? You mentioned external monitor issues. TDeck is notorious for getting “lost” offscreen. in reply to ashokraj #
  • @Kent_Giard Each app uses servers in different locations, which would explain discrepancies. I try to use the same one for consistency. in reply to Kent_Giard #
  • @Kent_Giard LOL that strategy works, too. :-) in reply to Kent_Giard #

  • Cool use for Google’s Quick Search Box for Mac: Type twitter.com/username, Tab, and then type to search for anything you/they have tweeted. #
  • Installed Windows 7 beta (x64) on a Thinkpad X61 Tablet we have floating around the office. It’s quite snappy. Next up: put it on the Eee PC #
  • If you’re going to install Windows 7 beta on an Atom-based netbook, make sure you use the 32-bit version. 64-bit no worky on N-series Atoms. #
  • Does Google Chrome just not work under Windows 7? I get a “known issues” popup, and it loads, but I can’t get any pages to load. #
  • @chadmor Perhaps I need to get a newer version of Chrome further out on the development branch. Will try it later. in reply to chadmor #
  • @jamespaulp Hmm. It was on the 64-bit version that Chrome was having problems. I bet that’ll fix it. Thanks! :-) (http://tinyurl.com/72htdc) in reply to jamespaulp #
  • Windows 7 went on the Eee PC 1000H pretty well. Had to install XP drivers for WLAN, LAN, and ACPI from CD, but everything else just worked. #
  • @jeffsiler Windows 7 speed is comparable to XP on the Eee PC 1000H. Maybe a little slower. But definitely usable. Would benefit from 2GB RAM in reply to jeffsiler #
  • @bljarv You get a blabkberry? Which one? Hope it’s a good one! in reply to bljarv #
