  • Lame that I have to “tweet to complete”, but I just added myself to the http://wefollow.com twitter directory under: #pdx #ignite #intel #
  • There are no meat people at my house (@rachelbancroft and the kids are at her mom’s). My work monitor is bigger than home. I’ll stay a while #
  • However, my house DOES have my big new TV, PS3, and Guitar Hero. Decisions, decisions… #
  • @MCP85 No way, man. The chairs at work are WAY better than the ones at home. JF1 WorkPlace Of The Future FTW! πŸ™‚ in reply to MCP85 #
  • But home suffers from a dire lack of cake. Or cookies. Or cupcakes. I may have to remedy that at an outpost on my way. #
  • ZOMG TV Breaking News – 10 monkeys escaped from the OHSU Primate Research Center on SW 185th in Beaverton. Lock your doors and stay inside! #
  • And since they’re medical research monkeys, they almost certainly have mutant superpowers. Your puny door locks are no match for them. #
  • @motherpopper Authorities are unsure whether the monkeys are infected with rage. They are, however, likely carriers of anarchy and hijinks. in reply to motherpopper #
  • So, what’s the update on the monkey sitch? I’m about to go to bed. Do I need to sleep with a crowbar or banana or something under my pillow? #
  • @turoczy You don’t understand. I live a couple miles from the monkey escape. And I’m home all alone. And I’m terrified of monkeys. Hold me. in reply to turoczy #
  • @turoczy yeah, I figured they’d hit up REI in Tanasbourne for gear, if they’re serious about this escape thing. They’ll need to blend in. in reply to turoczy #
  • @turoczy Just to be safe, I’m not leaving the house until Monday. Hey, you think the monkeys would bring me some Krispy Kremes? in reply to turoczy #

  • RT @intelevents Live chat NOW about Intel #Nehalem #Xeon 5500 servers through noon PDT. Join again tonight 7-9PM PDT. http://bit.ly/2fYYx #
  • @blogan If Twitter allowed direct messages from people you’re not following, it would be overrun by spam in short order. Do not want. in reply to blogan #
  • @blogan Because I filter my “is following you” emails into a bucket. If I had to filter my DMs, I’d miss real DMs. Too big a pain. in reply to blogan #
  • Quick! Somebody teach @shelbykatu about #pdxtst. She needs to know. http://bit.ly/68hMi #
  • @eriksr I played with a “hackintosh” for a while, but never really used it long term. Too much little stuff didn’t work quite right. in reply to eriksr #
  • Just watched a show on Hulu via the PS3 browser. It was watchable, but blocky and bad framerate. Oh well. #

  • Not a nice April Fools surprise: it appears that my WiMAX modem is dead. Luckily, Clear is sending a replacement. May this be today’s worst. #
  • Has anyone seen a nice iPhone wallpaper image of Google’s CADIE? She’s so cute, and I need something to replace Mr. Failwhale on my iPhone. #
  • @aaroneiche I’m using it for a specific work-related purpose, but it’s been awesome when it works. Coverage varies. in reply to aaroneiche #
  • Wow. CNET’s site is down. http://www.cnet.com/ April Fools! πŸ™‚ #
  • So, I never figured it out. Was chi.mp an April Fools joke or not? #
  • @MCP85 http://chi.mp – you can register a free .mp domain name. Looks possibly legit – OpenID, a “vanity” URL, etc. But I’m suspicious today in reply to MCP85 #
  • @MCP85 Ah. I thought it could have been an email harvesting scheme, that would then make fun of the “chi.mps” that fell for it. πŸ™‚ in reply to MCP85 #
  • @MCP85 @hollysue I had just never heard of chi.mp. I can’t keep up with all the things the kids are into these days. πŸ™‚ in reply to MCP85 #
  • @blath Yeah, but how was I supposed to know that? It’s not like I spend the whole day reading stuff of the internet! πŸ˜‰ #getoffmylawn in reply to blath #

  • @francinegeller I only tried one test call with Skype on iPhone, but quality was OK. About the same as on the computer. in reply to francinegeller #
  • WTH? Just plugged in my iPhone to sync, iTunes told me “Can’t sync. Syncing is disabled. Enable it?” Yes. “Nope. Can’t. Override?” *sigh* #
  • @Kent_Giard What’s really weird is that after all that, it synced just fine. It was just messing with me, I guess. πŸ™‚ in reply to Kent_Giard #
  • Apparently, if you get the iPhone/iTunes “Syncing is disabled” problem, and it doesn’t go away, here’s how you fix it: http://bit.ly/2L2Wg #
  • Make Magazine (the DIY nerd’s bible) comes to Portland: http://bit.ly/2g93N Anyone know who’s behind Make:PDX? Make yourselves known! πŸ™‚ #
  • Pop Quiz, dear Twitter followers. Tell me what Nehalem means to you. Thanks! πŸ™‚ #
  • Interesting responses to “what does Nehalem mean to you?” There’s no right answer, but it’s fascinating to hear what you all think. πŸ™‚ #
  • @EricAppel That’s what it means to me, too. πŸ™‚ Though I’ve camped on the Nehalem river. And been through Nehalem, OR many times. in reply to EricAppel #
  • If you’re a software developer, I’m especially interested in what Nehalem means to you. #
  • Is it just me, or is there no way to delete a blog I’ve added to the WordPress iPhone app? Or update the login/password if they’ve changed? #
  • @jmock Touching the blue arrow does the same as touching the blog name. Takes me to the Posts/Pages/Comments page. I’m on 1.21, FTR. in reply to jmock #
  • @leese OK, WTH, now it’s working. I just tried it a second ago, and it didn’t. Oh well. Thanks all for the help! πŸ™‚ in reply to leese #
  • @cyndibrigham Tapping the blue arrow now works for me, and I can edit the blog’s settings. (WordPress for iPhone) in reply to cyndibrigham #
  • @sanssucre I did, but my problem was that my finger wasn’t hitting the little blue arrow to open the preferences sheet. Got it now. πŸ™‚ in reply to sanssucre #
  • Do you use a Mac? Do you use antivirus software? Is it really necessary? I say no, but I’m getting a ton of people asking me. What say you? #
  • Let me ask this follow up question: has anyone every had a virus/malware infection on a Mac? Ever? I haven’t, nor have I heard of any. #
  • In my personal experience, I’ve cleaned up dozens and dozens of infected Windows machines, at work, in the family, of friends. Never a Mac. #
  • To those who run antivirus software on your Mac, has it ever actually, you know, caught anything? πŸ˜‰ #
