  • It's spooky quiet around the office. Everyone's off to @IDF in San Francisco. It didn't work out for me and @isntv to join them, sadly. #
  • @AndruEdwards Aardvark is awesome. I love it when people ask me questions about stuff I know, in general. So it's no surprise I like it. πŸ™‚ in reply to AndruEdwards #
  • iPhone apps that are getting buzz right now that I'm itching to try out: Snapture, and Brian Eno's Trope. Must. Resist. New. Apps… πŸ™‚ #
  • @kenekaplan I know. It's a total bummer. The stars weren't aligned. There's always next time! πŸ™‚ in reply to kenekaplan #
  • The quiet around here this week bodes well. I have achieved that rarest of states: the Triple Play Inbox Zero (work, Gmail, and feeds). πŸ™‚ #
  • @unclenate That's just how cutting edge we are. Actually, that's the reaction I'm usually greeted with when I explain @isntv. πŸ™‚ in reply to unclenate #
  • Adventures in Potty Training as @rachelbancroft pits her will against @gabebancroft. My approach? Bribe him with Burnout time on the PS3. #
  • Left the room for 5 minutes, with @gabebancroft playing Burnout Paradise. Came back, and he'd joined an online game, with voice chat… #
  • The boy can't steer, but he can join an online match. Not bad for a three year old, eh? πŸ˜‰ #
  • Snapture, the iPhone camera app, is nice for what it does: zoom, 3x multishot. But I lose the best 3GS camera feature: touch focus/exposure. #
  • @mike_strock Good question. They expose the camera via APIs, so I guess camera apps are fair game. in reply to mike_strock #
  • @gregleff Nope. I can't get Snapture to autofocus/adjust exposure at all. in reply to gregleff #

  • I just ousted @chaaarlie as the mayor of E-San Thai Cuisine on @foursquare! http://bit.ly/a8FO9 #
  • Nice iPhone app updates today. PicPosterous gets text descriptions. Mint gets transaction editing, a passcode, and push notifications. Yay! #
  • Wow. The Mint iPhone app update brings it to a whole other level. You can now edit/categorize your transactions. That alone is huge. #
  • I just became the mayor of Dairy Queen – Farmington on @foursquare! http://bit.ly/FH10E #

  • @banannie Boxcar for Twitter push notifications is absolutely worth the $3. Will change your life. Get it. πŸ™‚ in reply to banannie #
  • For those comparing the new HP DreamScreen to a tablet, you realize that it doesn't have a battery, and is meant to sit on a desk, right? #
  • AFAICT, the stand poking out the back isn't foldable, and it doesn't look designed to be hand held. It's got a remote. It needs wall power. #
  • The HP DreamScreen is a (very nice) digital picture frame, that's all. http://j.mp/niyfI I want one, but it's not a "tablet computer" at all #
  • Here's a PDF of the HP DreamScreen specs: http://j.mp/gPzAQ I find no mention of battery. And the screen isn't a touchscreen. #
  • @abraun I can't find any mention of what OS and software it runs, so I don't know. But the VentureBeat article says it doesn't run Windows. in reply to abraun #
  • Woo hoo! @Posterous Theming is live. An essential feature, long awaited. Thanks, guys! πŸ™‚ http://bit.ly/ziW30 #
  • @LorenHeiny Heh. By that rationale, my TV could be considered a tablet. It can display photos/video/weather, controls are on the bezel. πŸ™‚ in reply to LorenHeiny #
  • @onportland Only found out yesterday about Girl Talk playing tonight, and it's a bit late for a work night, but I'll be there in spirit. πŸ™‚ in reply to onportland #
  • Wow – people are panhandling to try to get into the Girl Talk show at the Roseland tonight: http://bit.ly/7BV7x #
  • I just became the mayor of Papa Murphy's Pizza – Aloha on @foursquare! http://bit.ly/Wy8X9 #
  • Nice! Waze for iPhone 1.2 update adds turn by turn voice guidance, Google local search. Sweet update to an already awesome free app. #

  • @jezlyn I'm not getting a PSPGo. My original PSP has a bigger screen and a UMD drive (I have about a dozen games on UMD). in reply to jezlyn #
  • @jezlyn I can't wait to see Nerdcore Rising. I heart @mcfrontalot. I missed an early screening of it at SXSW two years ago. in reply to jezlyn #
  • @jezlyn I like Frontalot's older stuff, most of which you can d/l from his site, and the Nerdcore Rising album. See also: Optimus Rhyme πŸ™‚ in reply to jezlyn #
  • @WashCo_FireMed Heh. That's just an artifact of how I'm splitting/grouping the people I follow on Twitter. Keep up the good work! πŸ™‚ in reply to WashCo_FireMed #
  • Testing, and Passing On My Gamer Legacy http://post.ly/5KCh #
  • @penmachine I think Flickr Galleries are new – I just heard about them from @fraying yesterday. As he says, they're awesome for curation. in reply to penmachine #
  • Curse makershed.com and their $3 mystery t-shirt sale! Curse them! (My wife will curse them when that order of t-shirts shows up… πŸ™‚ #
  • Have you see The Onion's "Microfiche" headline app for iPhone? It's very well done, and of course, they pack much hilarity into headlines. #
  • @flowersbyfarha I am not at liberty to disclose the number of t-shirts in my Makershed order, due to the fact that @rachelbancroft will see. in reply to flowersbyfarha #
  • @rachelbancroft You weren't supposed to read that! I can get rid of some old t-shirts, though. You know I couldn't pass up $3 Make shirts! in reply to rachelbancroft #
  • Win a new Canon 5DMKII (or $2500 Gift Cert) from @OPGear & Scott Bourne. Details here: http://bit.ly/BqU8N #
  • I have high resistance to most "post this tweet to enter to win this thingy", but my secret weakness is the Canon 5DMkII. I'm sorry… πŸ™‚ #
  • Another attempt to quantify influence, this time in the form of The Whuffie Bank. Here's me: http://thewhuffiebank.org/jabancroft #
  • I love the concept of whuffie as reputation currency, but I don't think we can accurately count it yet. RTs and Facebook likes aren't it. #
  • @bikehugger Yeah, so I sound like a social media expert when I say whuffie. The concept is still sound. And I was using it before them! πŸ˜› in reply to bikehugger #
  • @TheSquare RTs and likes are part, but it needs to measure other, subjective stuff. Like how things I've done have helped/touched others. in reply to TheSquare #
  • Aardvark's failing me, so let's try here. I need a WordPress plugin that will import a feed, and create new posts from the feed items. Go! #
  • Whoa – this SketchBook Mobile iPhone app from Autodesk looks really impressive. Should be out tomorrow (9/17): http://bit.ly/12hzsA #
  • Need a dose of cute at the end of your day? http://dreamingofpuppies.com/ has you covered. πŸ™‚ #

  • Remember the Raft from Snow Crash? Yeah, it's becoming real now: http://bit.ly/17s6dY #
  • Holy cow. Playing with http://vark.com and their new iPhone app – ask questions of your friends. Amazing. Got 7 responses in minutes. Wow. #
  • Join my Aardvark network http://vark.com/s/fb88 … I answer Qs about nerdy iPhone-y Mac-y geeky stuff. #
  • What kind of bird is this? http://post.ly/5Er9 #
  • @kathyannfarrel I was conducting an experiment, simultaneously asking Twitter, Aardvark, and others. Aardvark gave me more answers. πŸ™‚ #
  • OH: "Corpse flies are annoying." #
  • I should *not* have eaten that giant chunk of chocolate cake after skipping lunch today. #buzzbuzzbuzzcrash #
  • @mike_strock Yes, you can sync multiple iPhones to one Google Calendar. 5 calendars per iPhone, no limit I know of for iPhones per calendar. in reply to mike_strock #
  • I really hope they port Scribblenauts to iPhone. I sold my DS, and i'd be forced to buy a new DSi for it. πŸ™‚ #
  • @jezlyn I'd love to have a DSi. I kept all my DS games (about a dozen). I'm just reluctant to lay down $200 to play Scribblenauts. πŸ˜‰ in reply to jezlyn #
  • @jezlyn I'd hold on to them. I've always regretted selling my game consoles when I have. I think of myself as a collector now. πŸ™‚ in reply to jezlyn #
  • @jezlyn And there are some great recent games for PSP: Rock Band, Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet. 1st PSPs have bigger screens, too. πŸ™‚ in reply to jezlyn #

  • It seems quiet and productive when email's not working… We should do this more often! πŸ™‚ #
  • Just noticed that Mac OS X 10.6.1 update seems to have fixed the Spaces bug where "Every Space" didn't work. Tweetie now follows me around. #
  • RT @IgnitePortland: Ignite Portland Talk submissions are due on 10/4/09 – Submit your talk now! http://bit.ly/XOhNS #

  • @ravenme @chrisorourke Hitchcock is indeed an amazing looking app (watch the demo video on the site!). I want it, but at $20 I'm wavering. #
  • Here's the demo video of Hitchcock, an amazing iPhone storyboarding app for filmmakers: http://cinemek.com/hitchcock/ #
  • You know, without the ability to select and drag multiple apps, the App organizer in iTunes 9/iPhone 3.1 isn't that much easier to use. #
  • Oops. I'm an idiot. I guess I should have tried selecting/dragging multiples Apps in iTunes 9. It works just fine. Carry on! Nothing to see! #
  • Ever notice how many of the default iPhone apps start with C? Camera, Calendar, Contacts, Clock, and Clock. #thatsgoodenoughforme #
