  • Why so long? http://j.mp/9UWuH7 Fraser's right – the personal computing world is going to change this year. #
  • @blogan Not yet, but I'll be in the JF1 "living room" for the Apple event. :-) in reply to blogan #
  • I'll be watching Ars, Engadget, Gizmodo, and Gdgt primarily for live info on the Apple tablet event. Expecting Twitter to implode. :-) #
  • I updated my post about the Prediction app and score card with my own Apple predictions: http://bit.ly/9wmNh2 #
  • I'm all set up on the big TV in the JF1 living room area if you want to come join us Apple nerds at 10AM. :-) #
  • My setup watching the Apple event http://post.ly/KqG5 #
  • @jwfrancis I'm watching the liveblogs from ArsTechnica, Engadget, Gdgt, and Gizmodo. in reply to jwfrancis #
  • My iPhone has become my main computer. The iPad is going to be my next computer. #
  • I'm giddy thinking about using my favorite iPhone apps on an iPad. Safari, Instapaper, Kindle. It's going to be SO great! :-) #
  • Do I get an wifi iPad in 60 days, or hold out for 90 days and get a 3G one? Maybe I'll get the wifi one, and give it to my wife. :-) #
  • Excited for iBooks. Pleasantly surprised that they went with ePub for the books (open). Also happy it will coexist with my Kindle books. #
  • Resolution on the iPad is 1024×768. Interesting it's not 1280×720 (aka 720P HD). So it's not true "HD". http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ #
  • Interesting: iPad Camera Connection Kit – a pair of dongles that give it a USB port (for camera import) and/or an SD card slot. Cool! #
  • Only the 3G versions of the iPad have GPS ("Assisted GPS", which I assume is the same as the iPhone): http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ #
  • @bobduffy I'm pretty sure you can buy a 3G iPad with no plan. It's unlocked, so you could put another SIM in it. in reply to bobduffy #
  • With a keyboard dock and camera connector kit, I could do probably 98% of what I typically do on a laptop on an iPad. #
  • @atmasphere But unlike a netbook, you don't have to sit down and find something to set the iPad on before you can use it. :-) in reply to atmasphere #
  • @davechen I agree. Integration and the quality of the software are what make me love my iPhone so much. And why I'll get an iPad. :-) in reply to davechen #
  • @rachelbancroft Yes, it's everything I dreamed of. :-) And you're getting one. You need it. I'll explain why. :-) Paper route ahoy! :-) in reply to rachelbancroft #
  • Interesting that the screen on the iPad isn't "widescreen" 16:9 aspect ratio. It's 1024×768 pixels, which is standard 4:3. #
  • RT @fraying: Notice how no one's talking about Steve Jobs' health this time. I guess we only talk about that when announcements underwhelm. #
  • RT @fraying: The iPhone UI was built for thumbs. The iPad UI is built for index fingers. Big difference. #Apple #
  • I wonder if the new iPad iTunes/iPod apps will allow subscription and downloading of podcasts? #
  • @iSundevil I haven't touched my Kindle in months, but I read Kindle books every day on my iPhone. No one will buy it – it's a G1. Oh well! in reply to iSundevil #
  • Can't wait to see what @atebits does with @Tweetie for the iPad. SO many possibilities for a Twitter app there. Get on it, Loren! :-) #
  • What happens when you plug an iPhone into the USB port that the iPad Camera Connector kit uses? Can you pull photos? #unansweredquestions #
  • My iPhone already killed my Kindle. I haven't physically touched my Kindle in 4-5 months. I read Kindle books every day on my iPhone. #
  • @jschultz I've been reading ebooks on PDA-sized devices for almost a decade, so the size doesn't bother me. Convenience wins out. #
  • "iPad also comes with Bluetooth, which lets you connect to devices like […] the Apple Wireless Keyboard" http://www.apple.com/ipad/design/ #
  • @blath Yes, I'll likely give my Kindle to my kids. My 6yo is a *voracious* reader. She'll love it. :-) in reply to blath #
  • T-Mobile's 3G HSPA network uses AWS freqs (1700/2100MHz). iPad supports 2100 but not 1700. Will it work at 3G or EDGE speeds on T-Mobile? #
  • @jkendrick @palmsolo I agree that a MiFi is an almost perfect option. But it's $60/month, twice as much as a 3G iPad unlimited plan. in reply to jkendrick #
  • Another tidbit from the iPad tech specs page: "Support for 1024 x 768 with Dock Connector to VGA adapter" http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ #
  • As soon as someone makes a decently sturdy way to mount/hold it, the iPad is going to make an *awesome* car brain (the iPhone already is). #
  • The homescreen on the iPad rotates (unlike the iPhone). Guess that's why the icons are spaced so strangely. #
  • RT @Mona: Apple Keynote is up! http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/1001q3f8hhr/event/index.html /via @jamesjimmy23 #
  • RT @gruber: When you connect iPad to your Mac or PC, you get a file system mount point with "shared documents", for interchange with apps. #
  • To all who I offended today with my rabid fanboy enthusiasm, especially in person, I'm sorry. :-( #
  • Just paid off the last of @rachelbancroft's student loans. Woo hoo! :-) #
  • Thankfully I don't have any student loan debt, thanks to a very generous employer who reimbursed my school while I was finishing my degree. #
  • Now on to knocking out other debt before I blow all our money on iPads. :-) #
